Hi Again! It's been a while, but I Jess Charles (Journalist, poet, Radio DJ, media theorist and analyst, liar, distorter of the truth, advertising /product placement whore, phone hacker, naked photo leaker e.c.t ) am back to give you the down- lo from the best music scenes out there.
I have found some juicy records recently. Here’s where I talk about my favourites.
Inwards
New upcoming artist Kristian Shelley has made a beautifully atmospheric electronic album under the project name of Inwards. It will drop on 12th June. With swirling beats and heavenly drifting sounds, this will take you on a therepuetic mental journey from a soothing, ambient Garden, (the birdsong sound effects on the track reinforce the imagery. which I liked) to the thought provoking depth of a parallel life (Made better decisions in parallel life). Kristian has indeed made better decisions on this album. Inwards incorporates a varied range of textures, each one treated with the precision and care it deserves, slotting into the tracks with an effortless perfection. The master of subtlety of the tracks is what makes it work. The delicate and sensitive craftsmanship on here makes Inwards truly blissful.

Tobacco. Ultima II Massage : Prepare for the most schizo trip of the year.
For fans of Crystal Castles, Health and Salem, the new record by electronic project Tobacco, Ultima II Massage will be a superb choice, filling you up with a thick, noisy, fuzzy, and psychedelic head rush of zany, dark tracks. The most insane track is Streaker, whilst Spitlord and Father Sister Berzerker will lull you into a sensuous comedown. This album is full throttle face-punch-shroom trip in a mental asylum of an album, and is a great product of one of the most exciting developing genres of the moment.

Ben Frost A.U.R.O.R.A
Experimental artist Ben Frost has released an album with very heavy industrial feels. It has a great deal of noise with bells, chimes and drums. (especially on venter, there is an awful lot going on on this track) All though the compositions might not be as intricate as some of his past albums, it still has Ben's recorded in a vacuum in space feel. everything is wrapped in a thick twistor of chaotic harsh noise including drones and synthesiser leads. slow ambient tracks burst into fast ones and some tracks go through sudden transitions building into vicious dark crushendos giving the album drama and thrill. Ben's creativity is commendable, but i don't enjoy it as much as his last album By the Throat. the tracks don't have as much consistency and there it feels like there is a bit too much going on on some of them, however it is nicely textured and worth a listen.
